The account
In August 2025 I ran Google Ads for a mobile pet services business in Washington, through a US agency. The account spent $7.92K from 2 to 31 August.
The goal was more customers from inside the area the business served.
The problem in this niche
A mobile pet business drives to its customers. A click from outside its area costs money and cannot turn into a visit. Google’s default location setting also shows ads to people who are only interested in an area, not just people who are in it.
Many people who search for mobile pet services want a job, a van to buy, or just a price. Customers also often phone to book, and the person doing the work cannot always pick up.
What I did
- Checked the location settings, so the ads reached people inside the area the business covered.
- Excluded nearby areas the business did not travel to.
- Went through the search terms behind the clicks and added the searches from people who were not looking for the service to a negative list.
- Checked what the account counted as a conversion before I judged the numbers.
What changed
473 conversions at $16.74 each on $7.92K of spend
2–31 Aug 2025 · 1.05K clicks · Google shows 473.00
82 more conversions than the period before, at $3.01 less each
2–31 Aug 2025 against 3 Jul–1 Aug 2025 · Google shows 82.00
268 fewer clicks, on $196 more spend
2–31 Aug 2025 against 3 Jul–1 Aug 2025
Each change is printed under its figure on the screenshot. The totals for 3 Jul–1 Aug 2025 are not shown.
For an agency
If your client is a mobile pet business, most of the work is in the location settings and the search terms, so the budget stays inside the area the business can reach. I can run that account under your agency’s name and send a report you can forward to the client as is.
